1. Log in to Moodle: Open Bridgeway Academy Moodle Site (opens in new tab) and log in with your @mybridgeway.net user id and password.
  2. Access User Menu: Click on your profile picture or name at the top right corner of the page to open the user menu.
  3. Select Preferences: In the user menu, click on "Preferences."
  4. Notification Preferences: Under the Preferences section, click on "Notification preferences."
  5. Adjust Notification Settings: Here, you can see various types of notifications (e.g., assignment feedback, forum posts). Use the toggles to turn notifications on or off for each type as per your preference.

Additional Tips

  • Email Notifications: You can also configure email notifications from the same "Notification preferences" page on the website.
  • Mobile Notifications: Ensure that mobile notifications are enabled if you want to receive alerts on your phone. This can be done via the app settings .

By following these steps, you can customize how and when you receive notifications in Moodle to stay updated with your course activities.


Some important notifications to set as ON are:

  • Assignment notifications
  • Activity updated or added
  • Activity graded
  • Course Grade Changed
  • Forum Submission
  • Questionnaire reminder


Below is a tutorial that will guide you to apply appropriate settings.  Remember, that all settings that you can change are at your discretion.

1. The first step is to open Log in to the site | Home and click Bridgeway Microsoft Account

2. You may need to clear all the previous notifications. Click the arrow to Mark all as read.

3. Click the gear to open Notification preferences.

4. There are three columns: Activity Feed, Web, and Email. Scroll and click the gear to open Email settings.

5. Click in the Send email notifications to box. You can change the email that these notifications will go to. It will not change the Weekly Grade Report emails or the Missing Assignment emails, which will still go to the main email address on file.

6. Type the email you want to send these different notitfications to in the Send email notifications to box.

14. You do not have to add Email for all of these - especially if it's your parent's email, because it may be annoying. To toggle it on, click in the Email button.

15. The web notification is a good one to turn on. Those are the popups that you get when you first log in. To turn those for Assignment notifications, click the button in the Web column to toggle it on.

16. Feedback is another good one to turn on for Web notifications. Click the Feedback notifications Web button to toggle the Web notifications on.

17. You can also turn on Feedback reminder.

18. The first column is for the Activity Feed, which is a block on the right-hand margin. You may or may not need that notification, either. You can choose whether to turn that on or not. Click it to advance to the next step.

19. Next are the Forum (Discussion) Notifications. We recommend turning those on in the Activity and Web, but off in the Email. In most cases, subscriptions aren't available. Click to turn it on for the Activity Feed.

38. Every time you take a quiz, something is graded, or you attend a class, your grade will change. This whole line is OPTIONAL, and you do NOT have to turn this on. Click it to go to the next step.
