Dear Bridgeway Academy ‘Soon-to-be Graduate’ & Parents,
Congratulations on your upcoming June 6th graduation! You have been, and still are, working diligently, and it is worth it. Keep at it. You are completing a BIG chapter of your life…and approaching a new beginning! We are so glad that you will be participating in our graduation festivities and ceremony. In this letter, you will find essential information that you will need for this very special day!
Important Graduation Information
To process final GPAs for consideration for Valedictorian and Salutatorian, all final tests must be returned to our office by: May 10, 2020
If chosen for Valedictorian or Salutatorian, you will be notified by May 24th to prepare your speech to present to your classmates. For more information, please contact your advisor.
For you to receive your official diploma at graduation, all your completed work must be received by your advisor by May 20, 2020. If your work is received after the May 20th deadline, your official diploma will be mailed to you as soon as Bridgeway Academy has finished processing all your work.
If you are on track to complete your work by the end of your school year but that date is after June 1st, you can still participate in the graduation ceremony and receive the same diploma cover that all students receive while walking across the stage.
Bridgeway Academy Dress Code
Please follow these dress code guidelines for the graduation ceremony:
Male students: Button shirts with collars and long dress pants. A tie is recommended but not required.
Female students: Conservative dresses or skirts & shirts. No skin-tight dresses or short skirts permitted. High heels are discouraged as they are difficult to walk across the stage and up and down steps in.
During the graduation ceremony, as you come on stage to accept your diploma, your student profile will be read. An email will be sent asking you to fill out the profile. Please do so immediately.
If you would like to add to or change any of the information on your STUDENT PROFILE, please contact Betsy Joy Wilcox before May 24th at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We will be hosting a reception after the graduation ceremony for the graduates and their attending guests. Hors d’oeuvres will be available in Harmon Hall of Peace across from Alumnae Hall immediately following the ceremony and formal graduation group photo. If you or someone in your party has a food allergy that we should know about, please let us know by May 10th.
Graduation photos will be available for purchase on the day of the event. Forms will be emailed prior to the ceremony, additional forms will be available on graduation if needed. The photographer can accept credit cards, cash (exact change if possible), or checks the day of the ceremony.
Every year we prepare a slideshow that incorporates photos from all of our graduates and is shown before the ceremony. It is usually the highlight for the families as they wait for the ceremony to begin! We must receive pictures from all graduates in order to do this. We are requesting that each student email 5-10 photos of themselves to the email address below. Make sure they are appropriate for viewing by those attending graduation. All pictures must be received by April 30th and sent to: Bridgewaygraduation@gmail.com
Make sure that the student name is included in the email.
Cap and Gown
Each student living in the U.S. will be mailed their cap and gown prior to the ceremony. It is the graduates' responsibility to bring their cap and gown to the ceremony in Pennsylvania. International students will pick up their cap and gown when they check-in for graduation June 6.
If students wish to decorate their cap they must receive approval from their advisor prior to the ceremony. Appropriate designs will be approved.
