When you purchase an independent Discover! course, parents are in control of the course management. Parents complete the grading, re-open assignments, and edit the gradebook. The final grade is in control of the homeschool parent. A final completion report is delivered via email when the course is completed.
When a Parent logs into the BLC, they will see Items to Grade for all course enrollments for each of their students.
To grade an item, click on the hyperlink to open the item.
When you select an item that is an assignment type, the assignment is presented followed by the submitted file or text and then by the rubric (if available.) Grading an assignment by rubric is simple.
- Review each category on the rubric and select the best option for the performance by your student.
- After selecting a point value for each category, the score is calculated for your student.
- You can then add a comment to communicate information to your student and then submit the grade.
If a student completes a quiz that has manually graded items, the quiz will show in the Items to be graded area of the BLC for parent grading. Information for graders is displayed for parents to view when grading.
