The ability to be hands-on is so important when teaching about charity! Bridgeway wants to help out too, so any student who participates in these activities can turn in receipts or proof of participation for community service hours. With our high school students needing 15 service hours per year, and colleges and even trade schools wanting to see students volunteering, this is a great way to start adding hours to their transcript.
See our list below for recommendations of ways you can serve. Bridgeway Academy is not associated with these organizations and the following list is provided only to give our students ideas for earning their community service hours. Participation in any of these particular opportunities is not required.

Coming up later in the school year, we will have two additional opportunities available:
Acting for Compassion in February - This is an email campaign with educational videos, journals, and activities to help students better understand the impacts of poverty while helping break the poverty cycle - full participation is worth 24 hours of community service.
Earth Week in April - A week of activities embracing our Earth through videos, activities, and journals that can earn students up to 15 hours of community service based on their level of participation.
