Transcripts are an important part of every high school student’s record. They serve as the official summary of all courses completed and are required for college admission, vocational programs, and high school graduation. Who Needs to Submit a Transcript Students enrolling in Bridgeway Academy for grades 7 and above are required to submit a transcript or Record of Home Educated Courses. These records help us: Verify any transfer credits your student has earned Make informed course recommendations Ensure proper curriculum placement If Your Student Has Earned High School Credits Elsewhere If your student has completed high school courses with another institution, an official transcript must be submitted to Bridgeway Academy. This allows us to verify credits and accurately plan the remainder of your student’s high school coursework. Understanding Transcripts and the Individualized Graduation Plan (IGP) A transcript is an official record of all completed high school courses and grades earned to date. The Individualized Graduation Plan (IGP) is a planning document for High School Students created by your Bridgeway Academic Advisor that outlines your student’s path to graduation. It lists: Any transfer courses accepted from previous schools All remaining courses needed to fulfill graduation requirements Once your student’s official transcript is received, your advisor will review it and develop the IGP based on your chosen graduation track. Students beginning high school with Bridgeway in 9th grade will see only Bridgeway courses listed on their IGP, unless they have completed HS credits in 8th grade or below. Students transferring to Bridgeway during 10th–12th grade will see a combination of accepted transfer courses and projected Bridgeway courses. Bridgeway reserves the right to review and, if necessary, deny transfer credits that do not meet high school standards. In such cases, equivalent Bridgeway courses will be assigned. Official vs. Unofficial Transcripts Bridgeway must receive an official transcript before your advisor can create an IGP or record transfer credits. Grades from unofficial transcripts cannot be entered into the Bridgeway system for credit, but can help determine Middle School Course choices. Unofficial transcripts include: Copies emailed by families or students Documents mailed in unsealed envelopes Transcripts without a school seal or official signature Official transcripts include: Transcripts mailed in a sealed envelope with a school seal and official signature Transcripts sent electronically from the school’s official email or a verified transcript service, showing the school’s seal, signature, and date Please have your previous school send all official transcripts directly to: transcripts@bridgewayacademy.com
